Back pain healed through Christian Science treatment prayer

my back I fell in pain onto the garage floor. At first, I was quite fearful, because there was no one else
around at that time and I couldn’t get up, but prayer had saved me from many emergencies through
my life so I was quite confident that in this case prayer would bring help.
The help that came was the realization that the Christ, Truth, as taught by Christ Jesus was there with
me and I needed to welcome more of that Christly thought into my life. I knew that Christ Jesus
taught us about God by example, by being the “ideal man” (Science and Health with Key to the
Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy pg. 338) and I knew that the Christ is with us every day “voicing good,
the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness.” (Science and Health
pg. 332:9). This Christ consciousness told me that, right then and there, God, the Father-Mother of all
mankind, was with me and I was His/Her cared for and loved child. My fear abated. I was able to get
up and slowly go into the house. Then I called a Christian Science Practitioner to pray with me. She
was so loving, encouraging, and confident of full and quick healing! My thought was immediately
uplifted.
That evening I spent in gratitude to God for sending Christ Jesus to the world and for sending Christ,
Truth, throughout all time to heal and comfort. I thought about what Jesus taught; that God is Love
and Spirit, that there is only one God, that all power belongs to God, that we should love God
supremely and demonstrate our love for God by loving our fellow man. I was finally, though still
painfully, able to get to bed and go to sleep.
The next morning the Christian Science Practitioner who I had called the night before came over to my
house. We read the Christian Science Weekly Bible Lesson together. We also talked about God’s
all-ness and man’s one-ness with God, divine Mind, and about how divine Mind’s, ideas or thoughts
are creation; how divine Mind creates by knowing. We considered the powerlessness of any mortal
thought that is unaligned with the thoughts of divine Mind. By the time the practitioner left I was able to
move comfortably and do what I needed to do, slowly.
The next day I was able to perform all my normal activities at home and at work. And the day after that
I was functioning at full speed and full strength. I have not had any recurrence of this problem since
this healing; I have lifted and moved heavy items, have gone backpacking, and also participated in
many other activities, such as skydiving and snow shoveling that require a strong back.
