Severe headache healed through Christian Science prayer

One morning at my job in high tech many years ago, I had a severe headache that had been
interfering with my work, my attitude, and my joy.
I took some quiet time and prayed with the prayer that Mary Baker Eddy (the discoverer of Christian
Science) gave to little children as a New Year gift (See Miscellaneous Writings 1883-1896 400:14)
which goes:
“Father-Mother God,
Loving me, -
Guard me when I sleep;
Guide my little feet
Up to Thee.”
As I prayed the little children's prayer, I began to feel more clearly that God is the creator, protector,
and comforter (Father-Mother) of all mankind, including my colleagues and me. I felt God’s love for
me and knew God loves every one of His/Her children. I felt the presence of the angel Gabriel, the
angel of love, right there in my office. I also felt the presence of the angel Michael, the guardian angel,
who protects and defends all of God's creation against any manifestation of evil. I realized that these
loving, protecting, angels of God keep constant watch over me even when I’m asleep to my real
spiritual selfhood and am engrossed in doing my job. I felt a welcoming of Christ Jesus, the Way-
shower, into my consciousness; I was reminded that the Christ consciousness is always with me to
guide me through difficult decisions. . My thoughts were being led - up to God, to a broader
understanding of God and God's attributes that hold His/Her dear children in perfect, painless love.

I better understood that our Father-Mother God is always loving, guarding, and guiding me and
everyone.
By the time these inspirations had sunk in, my thought was uplifted to the point that it was natural to
demonstrate these joyous thoughts in action. I began by being kinder and more patient (in short,
more loving) to my colleagues at work. And shortly after that, came the “signs following” (see Mark 16:
20) - the healing! In less than half an hour, I was completely healed of all discomfort. The headache
was gone. I was full of joy and was happy to share it.
